14th September 2007

Alright I’m 16 days away from my birthday! That’s mean I’ll be turning 25 VERY SOON! Unbelievable!!
Can’t imagine I’m not only a young lady now but also a Wife to someone at 25 years old! Hahahaaaa…

Anyway, I already received a present for my birthday this year! Very advance huh!! Hehehehe..
Is something I wanted for so so so long! Is a new Mobile Phone! :D It is a Nokia 6110 Navigator (in white).
And is from………………. MYSELF!!! Hehehe.. Just try to make it a bit exciting!

My New Mobile Phone

I bought it at Holiday Plaza last night at the price of RM1420. The seller helped me to upload the software for the map searching function. Not only that, she also downloaded songs and themes for me!! Much better than buying from Francis.. A kosong Phone!! (opss!hopefully Francis don’t see this) heheehe.. I’m bored with candy bar type of phone, so decided to get this slide phone + with map! That’s what I like. My hubby and me will never get lost again in Singapore or KL.
Finally I can say bye to my Nokia 7610 after using it for 3 years. Don’t really bear to sell it away, so I kept it for memory! There is about 500++ message in it and is all from my old BF (my current Hubby).. Couldn’t bear to delete them la!

I have no idea how to celebrate my birthday this year.. Any idea?I was thinking a get together with all my sista and some of my close friends. I can’t afford to treat everyone I know! So what do you think? Or any better idea??

Piercing Again

He enlarges it again!! The 1st time, he did it himself. That’s 1 month ago. 2nd time he went to Watt’s Tattoo shop @ City square to do it. That’s 2 or 3 weeks ago. And last Sunday he DID it again!! I wonder how he can hold on with the pain! I can’t even DARE to watch it!! I felt the pain in my heart but to him is like ‘Boh Rasa’!! (He felt the pain after that) The hole is so BIG!! Even my little finger can go through it!
Very Geli lo!!

There is not much blood when he doing it BUT that night, the whole night!! He finished up one whole big box of tissue!! He has to cover his pillow with a white towel but unfortunately about quarter of the towel is in RED colour and of coz his pillow too. Can you believe it? How much blood is that?!! He didn’t get much sleep that night and I also kena disturbed by him few times but I don’t mind. I wanted to wake up and accompany him but I have to work the next day. Sorry Bibi… :(

I took few photos of his ears. You guys can check it out. And thanks for the guy who work @ Watt’s Tattoo shop. Since I wouldn’t dare to watch the whole procedure, he helps me to record it! Actually the procedure is very fast! Push In the expander! Leave it for few mins!! Took it out! Done!! But my hubby leaves the expander for oneday. He took it of himself on Monday night and put on his own Black Round Ring (sorry I doesn’t know the exact name of it)

Petai

Any of you love petai? I lurve it! A lot! Some ppl hate the taste of it. They said smelly but i find it delicious! Esp when it cook with sambal! Yummy yummy..

Most people know very little about it. After reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at petai in the same way again! Petai contains three natural sugars -sucrose, fructose and glucose. Combined with fiber, petai gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that just two servings of petai provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute! workout. No wonder petai is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way petai can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

PMS (premenstrual syndrome): Forget the pills - eat petai. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anaemia:High in iron, petai can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anaemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making! it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration have just allowed the petai industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating petai at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:High in fiber, including petai in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a petai milkshake, sweetened with honey. The petai calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:Petai has a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating petai for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness : Snacking on petai between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites :Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of the petai skin. Many people find it! Amazingly successful at reducing swelling and i rritation.

Nerves:Petai is high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight:Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:Petai is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. ! It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases... It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:Many other cultures see petai as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In hoiland, for example, pregnant women eat petai to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Petai can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer, tryptophan.

Smoking:Petai can also help people trying to give up smo! king. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium petai snack.

Strokes:According to research in 'The New England Journal of Medicine, 'eating petai as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%'.

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill! Off a wart, take a piece of petai and place it on the wart. Carefully hold the petai in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, as you can see, petai really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around... So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A Petai a day keeps the doctor away'

Hectic Monday

My Monday is always been a busy day since last month. After work have to rush back to my hubby’s house (which will be my house soon too) to take a shower, have my dinner and usually I’ll have 30 minutes time for me to rest. Today definitely would be the worst Monday coz Kak Fidah ( My Senior) is on her half day leave. To be more accurate, she will be working half day everyday for this whole week!!
So I have to cover all her work and she is always the busiest Customer Service in my office. There are about 20 Plus booking I have to made for her today and plus my own shipper.. is about 30 plus booking I had made today!! The phone will none stop ringing and most of the calls are looking for Kak Fidah! And Yeah.. I’ll be the one answering and helping those shipper whatever they request for. 4 more days for me to go.. (Sob Sob)

At 7.30PM every Monday, I have to attend a class called RCIA @ Cathedral of Sacred Heart of Jesus, JB. I know is a very long name for a church! Hehehe.. You might be wondering what does RCIA stand for? It actually a short form for ‘Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults’. Is a class for those who are none catholic but interested to convert into one. We have to attend this class for 10 months and learn about everything which we need to know before we get Baptist. For example: - Our Faith Journey, Who is God, Prayer, The Gift of Scripture and bla bla bla…

Now you might be wondering, why am I joining this class? Actually I was encouraged by my hubby and his family members who are born to be catholic. At First I’m not very keen about it because I was born and brought up in a freethinker family. I dunno much about religious but after attending few lesson ( I never miss any lesson except the week when I’m in Bangkok) I find it really interesting ! Now I know who is God, How to do my prayer and How to read the bible! Hahahaha…

Besides that, I also learn how to be a better person, to have faith in life and learn to forgive. Today is only the 7th weeks yet I learn so much. There are still more for me to learn! I felt lucky that I have this chance to learn more about God and I really appreciate that the facilitators willing to spare their time for me and the others.

As for now, I need to SLEEP!! Is so tiring but me still keeping on writing this blog! As I said, will try my best to update it day by day! Hehehe… Alrite!! Time to do my prayer and head to BED!

Since when I become so Holy ah??!!!
Hahahahaa…

The Freedom Writers Diary

The Freedom Writers Diary is the amazing true story of strength, courage, and achievement in the face of adversity. In the fall of 1994, in Room 203 at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California, an idealistic teacher named Erin Gruwell faced her first group of students, dubbed by the administration as "unteachable, at-risk" teenagers. The class was a diverse mix of African-American, Latino, Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Caucasian students, many of whom had grown up in rough neighborhoods in Long Beach. In the first few weeks of class, the students made it clear that they were not interested in what their teacher had to say, and made bets about how long she would last in their classroom.

The kids took bets on how long their new teacher would last in their classroom. Then a pivotal event changed their lives forever: when a racial caricature of one of the African American students circulated the classroom, Erin angrily intercepted the drawing and compared it to a Nazi exaggeration of Jews during the Holocaust. To her amazement, the students responded with puzzled looks. Erin was appalled to discover that not one child in her class knew of the Holocaust and its unspeakable horrors. When asked how many had been shot at, however, all raised their hands, and a battle-scar show-and-tell began that shocked Erin even more.

Erin Gruwell had touched a nerve, and she ran with it. Knowing that her students were all too familiar with violence, she introduced them to Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl and Zlata's Diary: A Child's Life in Sarajevo. Reluctant at first to read the strange texts, the students of Room 203 soon paralleled their lives to those of Anne and Zlata- teenagers also surrounded by violence- and could not believe their intense connections to the stories. Each student began to keep his or her own anonymous diary, recording tormenting stories of drug use, struggles with physical and mental abuse, reaction to Erin and her unconventional teaching methods. The results were the foundation of a life-changing, spiritually enriching journey that began with a symbolic "toast for change," and has not stopped since.

From the moment they named themselves the "Freedom Writers," the students of Room 203 changed from a group of apathetic, frustrated students to a closely knit, motivated family. The Freedom Writers have since continued to spread their story and message throughout the world. In 1997 they held an "Echoes of the Soul" fund-raising concert to help pay for a trip to Washington, D.C., where they toured the Holocaust Museum and presented their diary to Secretary of Education Richard Riley. This trip also allowed them to emulate their heroes, the Freedom Riders, by holding a peace march and prayer vigil for victims of intolerance at the Washington Monument. In 1998 they won the Spirit of Anne Frank Award- the Freedom Writers traveled to New York to accept the award. Most recently, in the summer of 1999, one of their most far-reaching goals was achieved. The Freedom Writers and Erin visited Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam; the concentration camps Auschwitz, Birkenau, and Chelmno in Poland; and visited Zlata in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Most important all 150 Freedom Writers have graduated from High School and are attending college.

I watched this movie few months back and I love it so much! It touched my heart and I even cried at some part of the movie. I can’t get enough of it so I went searching for the book. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it in JB!

Last weekend when I was in Time Square, KL. I walked in to Borders and try my luck to search for this book! TADAH!! I found it! Is not that hard to find! Hehehe..I already read 30% of the book. Cant wait to finish it!! Even my hubby said I spend too much time with the book and neglecting him.(Sorry Bibi) What to do??!! I’m just very into in mah!!

Actually this is not the actual book I’m looking for. I wanted the one which are originally published before the movie showed. But the promoter said they doesn’t have that book at the moment. Anyway, is better than nothing.
